Kybella Q & A

Northpoint Aesthetics

What is Kybella?

Kybella is an FDA-approved treatment used to remove double chins and any unwanted or excess fat from the chin and neck area. Kybella is a prescription medication that is injected into the neck by a licensed practitioner.

Dr. Jillian Ciocchetti is fully licensed and experienced in providing Kybella treatments. Once injected, Kybella will work to break apart fat in the neck, which will gradually lead your chin to look more defined and free of excess fat.

What should I expect during my Kybella appointment?

During your first visit with Dr. Ciocchetti, you’ll receive a full consultation and evaluation. Kybella is an effective treatment, but it’s not for everyone. She can work with you to understand your past medical history, and any other current conditions to ensure this treatment plan is right for you.

What is the treatment process with Kybella like?

If you decide to move forward with a Kybella treatment, the entire process will likely take several months. Most patients will need two to five different treatments that are performed every four weeks. This allows Dr. Ciocchetti to monitor your progress and ensure that you’re healing as expected.

What are the side effects and recovery time with Kybella?

Kybella is a non-invasive procedure. Compared to chin liposuction, the recovery process is much quicker.

For the first few days after the procedure, you will notice some swelling and redness in the injection area. However, these symptoms normally subside within one week. Although rare, some of the severe side effects can include tissue damage and infection.

What should I look for in a doctor for my Kybella treatment?

Before starting your Kybella treatment, you want to make sure to find an experienced doctor. Since it’s a relatively new treatment option, not every doctor will have sufficient experience administering Kybella.

Luckily, Dr. Ciocchetti is fully certified in this area and has successfully performed injection therapy in many of her patients. She can also provide you with any information regarding Kybella, such as the possible risks involved, and any questions you may have before receiving your treatment.
